1. About these terms
These Terms of Service (the "Terms") govern your access to and use of the Olakino website, mobile and web application, and related services (together, the "Services"), provided by Olakino Oy (Business ID 3275660-3), a company registered in Finland ("Olakino", "we", "us"). Your privacy is covered separately in our Privacy Policy.
2. Who can use Olakino
You must be at least 16 years old [AGE] and able to enter into a binding agreement to use the Services. If you use Olakino on behalf of someone else, you confirm you are authorised to do so.
3. What Olakino is
Olakino is a wellness platform. It connects to continuous glucose monitors and wearable devices and turns that data into personalised guidance to help you understand and improve your everyday wellbeing. We continue to develop the Services and may add, change or remove features over time.
4. Important health disclaimer
Olakino is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. The information and insights we provide are for general wellness and informational purposes only.
Always seek the advice of a qualified healthcare professional with any questions about a medical condition, medication, diet or treatment, and never disregard or delay professional medical advice because of something you saw in Olakino. Do not change your medication or treatment based on Olakino. If you think you may have a medical emergency, contact emergency services immediately.
Olakino does not replace devices, software or guidance provided to you by your healthcare provider or by the manufacturer of your glucose monitor or wearable.
5. Waitlist & pre-registration
If you join our waitlist, you give us your email so we can tell you about the launch and related updates. Joining the waitlist does not guarantee access, pricing or any particular feature, and you can unsubscribe at any time. Any figures or timelines we mention are estimates, not promises.
6. Your account
When accounts become available, you are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide, for keeping your login details secure, and for activity under your account. Tell us promptly at pauliina@olakino.fi if you believe your account has been used without your permission.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Services unlawfully or for anyone else's data without their consent;
- copy, reverse-engineer, disrupt or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Services;
- upload malicious code or interfere with other users; or
- misrepresent your identity or your relationship to any data you provide.
8. Devices & third-party services
Olakino works alongside third-party devices and services (such as glucose monitors and wearables). We are not responsible for those products, their accuracy or availability, and your use of them is governed by their own terms. If a third-party connection changes or stops working, some Olakino features may be affected.
9. Fees
Joining the waitlist is free. Some parts of the Services may be paid in the future; if so, we will show the price and payment terms clearly before you commit, and your statutory consumer rights will apply. [FEES - update once pricing is set.]
10. Intellectual property
Olakino and its content, design, software and trademarks are owned by Olakino Oy or our licensors. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable licence to use the Services as intended by these Terms. The data you provide remains yours; you grant us the permissions needed to operate the Services and deliver insights to you, as described in our Privacy Policy.
11. Disclaimers & limitation of liability
The Services are provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties and do not guarantee that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free or that insights will be accurate or suitable for your particular circumstances.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Olakino is not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or your mandatory rights as a consumer under Finnish law.
12. Termination
You may stop using the Services and close your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these Terms or where we must do so by law. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (such as intellectual property, disclaimers and governing law) will continue to apply.
13. Governing law & disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Finland. If you are a consumer, you also benefit from the mandatory protections of the law of your country of residence, and you may bring proceedings in the courts of your home country. Consumers in Finland may contact the Consumer Disputes Board (Kuluttajariitalautakunta) or the Consumer Advisory Service. EU consumers may also use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version here and change the "last updated" date; significant changes will be notified by email or in the App. Continuing to use the Services after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
